Madhya Pradesh congress seems to be divided into pieces these days. The state president Suresh Pachauri along with his disciples is trying his best to improve the condition of the party. On the other hand, former chief minister Digvijay Singh is trying to reintroduce his style of politics in the state.
The congress has lost back to back under the leadership of Pachauri. The main reasons behind the failure of Pachauri are his trusted nearer and dearer and lacunae in his farsightedness. In the mean time, Digvijay Singh emerged as a chief managing leader of congress due to his method of coalition politics.
There is a third group in MP congress, which is being popular at this time. Former state president Subhash Yadav and Jamuna Devi are in this list. Because of his Political experience, Subhash Yadav managed a victory in Lok Sabha election for his son. Jamuna Devi is Madhya Pradesh’s senior most MLA, she has the knowledge of all the facts of tribal politics. But a section of congress politics has left no stone unturned to prohibit the progress of the tribes. Perhaps the only fault of Jamuna Devi is that she is not a member of any powerful group in congress and is directly following the orders of the congress High Command.
The hold of congress is so loose in the sate that the party hasn’t been able to establish any movement against the BJP. Congress just released statements on papers regarding the issue of corruption in the state. Though, party leaders were competing to show themselves as the most hardworking face of the party during the visit of Rahul Gandhi. The coming Rajya Sabha elections will decide that whether the High Command gives any recognition to the congress in the state or not.
