Bhopal judicial tragedy.

It cant be said whether the Bhopal gas victims got justice after 25 years or mere a joke was played with their sentiments on the name of justice. After the 25 years of Bhopal gas tragedy the judicial tragedy has shaken the whole world. Once again the deadly memories of the 1984 dance around the eyes of the poor victims…

What did the poor victims who survived the deadly Bhopal gas tragedy get after these 25 years? This has become a matter of debate but what have these victims got out of it? The people who have been behind this tragedy whose negligence left 15274 people dead and has compelled the rest of the victims to die every day are free and enjoying all the possible benefits of the lethargy   of the  judicial system of India and they are Warren Anderson along with another 8 people. Though the CBI and the police seems to have got ridden of their responsibilities but these victims are dying till date due the effect of this poisonous gas effect. The leakage of methyl isocyanate on 2nd and 3rd December took the lives of thousands of people.

This whole judicial process which was extended upto 25 years gave full time for union carbide’s president Warraen Anderson to save himself from the responsibility of this tragedy. He came to visit Bhopal again on 7th December 1984 where he was left on bail after paying 25 thousands and was warned that he will have to keep visiting India whenever called to cooperate with the judicial process but Anderson never appeared before that the court of law and at last he was declared absconding. On 7th June 2010 all the human rights organisations were waiting for the decision of the chief judicial magistrate who held Keshav Mahendra, CEO Union carbide Bhopal, managing director Vijay Gokhale,J Mukund, SP Chowdhry, KV Shetty, SI Quereshi, Kishore Kamdar held guilty under section 304- A,336,337 and 338 for this unfortunate episode. Was this justice which is meted out to these victims reasonable enough? Is it a true justice?

The whole atmosphere remained polluted for 108 days. Which trapped all the people of Bhopal from various diseases. Thousands of people still are suffering from the ill effects of Bhopal tragedy. The kind of justice which is done to the Bhopal gas victims cant be proven right. The gas victims associations leader Abdul Jabbar’s questioning on the credibility of the investigations of the CBI seems to be right that the government takes the human tragedies with the eyes of social economic and political benefit and it seems that they have to do nothing with the human values.
