The real story of common wealth lies in the fact that in the previous year itself the plan of ending this game was chalked out.7 countries including the small country like Trinidad and Tobago too stood against Delhi as these countries believed that India won’t be able to host this game well on time. As per the sources the higher officers of these countries were given 40 crores out of which each officer got 1 crore to keep their words mum. This whole money was given through Hawala. Every day a new story of one or other scam is coming up. One must remember that this event has become the witness of the great Indian loot.
An interesting story I would like o share with you here is that Prince Harry came to India to watch Rugby match along with the common wealth officers to inspect the preparations. They were dumbstruck after seeing the stadiums as they appeared to be awesome even the athletes were happy to witness this world class stadium in Delhi but still the foreign officers were thinking about its possibility so one of them thought lets see what is there behind the walls usually grass appears to be green on the other side but on the contrary the backside of the boundaries was full of filth and debris, the workers were sleeping and within a moment it became clear that the inside view is a mere pretence and has been done to put the visitors in hallucination but the reality can be found behind the walls and this is the place where the story of the great Indian loot on the name of common wealth games 2010 starts from.
In this story the first and foremost thing we will talk about will be about AM Films (a company in London) which is breaking news in the TV channels and news papers these days. A news paper has declared that a scam has occurred in the money given to this car company. OC gave 6 crore rupees to a stranger and small company. Interestingly earlier Kalmadi denied all the allegations but later this thing came into light that Kalmadi himself released order of giving money to AM Films. Still half of the truth has come up so far.
Though the money was given but the real story is something else. This is the incidence of Queen’s baton relay. The relay has starts from the Buckingham palace and Kalmadi and the officers should be congratulated for organizing this event so well and beautiful. It was expected that 4-5 thousand people will be a part of this event but the presence of 45 thousand people all of a sudden made this even almost historic. Though everything seemed to be good but the last moment decisions and preparations spoiled all.As a result in a great hurry Kalmadi and company sent all this money to England via this car company and here the problem occurred. This whole matter costs just 6 crores which is quite less if we compare it to the entire loot of the government money on the name of common wealth games lets share something even more shocking the total budget of the common wealth games is 1600 crore rupees. This includes the expenses of the baton relay right from three years back and the expenses occurring until the games are officially closed exempting the expenditure of the over bridges, roads and infrastructure. This amount even includes the facilities in the stadiums and all the expenses. 300 crores were granted for the training of the athletes so that India can get more and more medals but not even 40 crores have been spent on the training on the top nobody knows about where is the hockey camp being run, billiards training, athletics training, shooting too is facing worst of its times despite knowing very well that medals can be won out of it. Now the questions is where has this huge money gone?
The news of the scams which are coming in media are pertaining to this 1600 crore rupees. This includes the expenses right from the tread mill to the money give to the AM Films. The investigations of Chauthi Duniya has revealed that a bigger part of the goods which are being purchased for CWG are coming from ‘Deepali design and exhibits’ and the name of a BJP leader Sudhanshu Mittal is being linked with this company, the owner of this company is a close relative of Mittal. This company has got somewhat 230 crore Rupees from OC. As per the estimates most of the things are being taken on rent and not purchased whatever things which are either purchase or taken on rent confides in the amount of mere 25 crore ruppes which is nothing as compared to the 230 crores. Now this indicates that after the closing of CWG our athletes will not get to use anythng. This company has got 9 lack 75 thousand rupees for renting a tread mill for 45 days and the same deal can happen in just one lack per month by contacting the local shops on the top this tread mill costs just 4 lacs meaning thereby we can get two treadmills in the same amount and still some money will be left which can be used on some other things as well.The purchase of tissue paper will really shock all of us. The officers purchase a roll worth 3757 rupees were as the same thing one can get for 30 rupees in the market. This was purchased from SR Tissues and foils . If this kind of stupid deals are being done then why is there a need of educated officers in CWG. The officers should themselves explain that which umbrella costs rupees 6 thousand. Even a lay man can guess that how brutally the hard earned money of the public is being spend on even those petty goods which could have been purchased on far lesser rates.here OC claimed that this whole amount will be returned back to the government.
The investigation of Chauthi Duniya revealed that most of the officers were aware of this scam and due to this very reason Anil Khanna the president of All India Tennis Association, who is also a treasurer of OC resigned. He was not signing the checks from past two months and had clearly mentioned that the money is not being spent fairly in CWG and the moment he left AK Mattu toom over his job now this is a big news because due to his arrival the old athletic team of Kalmadi became the soul governing body OC. This team consisted of Kalmdi, Lalit Bhanot, AK Mattu, Sanjay Mahendru which together did all these things.
The biggest of the scams will be disclosed when the contract between OC and a sports marketing and management company will come to the forfront. This company was given marketing rites which has been dismied now. It was decided that this company will get 23 percent plus service charge of every deal that means near about 25 percent. Now one must think that the Indian companies will put their money on stake and this Australian company will get 25 percent without cracking even a nut. This is the same company to which Kalmadi gave the marketing rights of the Pune Games 2008. This company is being linked with a Mauritius company whose name came up in the IPL scams. This company was given 380 crore rupees by Kalmadi on the name of fecilitation but the irony is despite this the company failed to get any sponsors for CWG and due to this very reason Indian railways and ONC took back the sponsorship of 100 crores each. Now the situations may compel Kalmadi to beg as so far no sponsors other Hero Honda are available. The Companies are saving their money for the Cricket World Cup. Another big problem is that that this company is preparing to take a legal action against OC the Australian ministers are saying that no company can be suspended like this. This will inflict the games in a manner that such that no big athletes will come to Delhi and Canada has decided not to send her higher athletes to Delhi and many more countries can take such steps. Earlier it was estimated that 4 lack tourists will come to watch the games but now the strength has reduced to mere 20-30 thousand and this will even hinder the foreign investment in these game also due to these scams government has stopped bidding for the Asian games. Kalmadi should be asked that why hasn’t he included cricket in CWG. Whether its Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh all these countries play cricket which are the members of the common wealth games. It was decided in 2004 itself that cricket too will be included in the Delhi Common Wealth games. The friction between Sharad Pawar and Kalmadi will further put the country into trouble. Had cricket been included it would have alone earned around 900-1000 crores to India. Now even Doordarshan too has left Suresh Kalmadi now it has said that OC itself should bring sponsors for 7500 seconds.
As per an estimate common wealth games can only earn maximum 400 crores to India and now how will Kalmadi return these 1600 crores to the government now the government should decide whether the common public will be made to suffer on behalf of this loot. Even a scam has been reported in the 35000 crores which was granted for the infrastructure. The government should investigate that how many stadiums have been made for these 32 games and who all are behind it who has designed and architected these stadiums. It should happen because these are the front companies of OC officers as the will be deciding where the money will be spent and these people together have looted the publics money. Lets take the Nehru stadium for example 900 crores have been granted for its renovation now one must thing that what all things will be built up in this stadium which is already well prepared and this huge money even doesn’t include the necessary machines and facilities for the players. For example now take up the example of the Balewadi stadium this was made in 82 crores having world class facilities and here too the budget of the swimming pool is kept 300 crores where a luxurious and well facilitated swimming pool too can prepaed in mere 5 crores. Another interesting thing is that all the companies know about all these corruptions and scams and when they don’t get any tender they file an RTI and the matter reaches too the court hence the work stops then and there. The court has received so far 30 RTI applications and these people are not the social workers they are doing these things on behalf of those companies. It seems that these games resulting to big scams have become curse in disguise. Earlier Kalmadi used to appear in Italian suits and sunglasses but he gradually changed his attire first to shirt pants and then to Khadi kurta as he knows the power of khadi very well. He also knows that the common public will forget all these things when the opening ceremony of this game will be done and 50 crore have been kept for the preparations. Media will keep disclosing these things parliaments will be crowed of such cases but the culprits will never stop smiling as they know that the poor public will forget these things. Now the only questions left is where are those who have proud of India?
