Mayawati’s ‘look-towards-public’ Policy

All of a sudden one can see a sense of discipline and devotion in the BSP (Bahujan Samjwadi Party) camp. It seems that Mayawati has decided to enter the 2012 Assembly Election battle field with a huge crescendo. The desire of vote bank has inculcated a sense of responsibility in Mayawati popularly known as ‘Bahanji’. She seems to have adopted a policy to appease each and every section of the society. In the continuous day and night meetings, BSP Supremo, has designed a priority chart in her own interest. The top most agenda in this wish list is completing all the projects meant for ST, SC, OBC and minority class. Probably, she is keen on creating a Goddess-like image which will give a message that except her there is no leader in today’s politics who is as concerned for these classes as she is. Though devoid of a vision, she seems to have become farsighted. Not only in the Assembly elections but also in the Lok Sabha elections she is expecting a higher place for herself. In order to achieve the goal she had visited and inspected the entire state in the month of February. Irate over the poor progress of development work she transferred 79 IAS officers in February and 31 in March.

She wants to take special measures to appease the minority community. So, in this direction she has granted permission for opening Kanshi Ram Arab, French, Urdu University in Lucknow. A budget of 330 crores has been allocated. Anees Ansari has been already appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of the university. The university will commence in this very session.

Her hunger for publicity has made her run a BSP newspaper in 25 states. In addition, she is planning to run a news channel as well. Meanwhile, she has started a Bahujan Samaj bulletin in Punjab. By giving huge amount of money the party has influenced a daily newspaper as well. To fulfill all her dream projects she needs money and this will come from administration. She has come up with new ideas to keep the officers and workers happy. For maintaining better coordination with the MP, MLAs, ministers and party leaders she has tried to reduce their work pressure as well. She has given some responsibilities to the IAS and PCS officers. Now these officers will be answerable if the work is delayed.
To make the Shiksh Mitra happy she has proposed to designate them as teachers. Basic Education Council as per the guidelines of the National Council has made a proposal to train the teachers soon. Doctors too fall in her list, so, she has granted permission to the doctors to take transfers near their hometowns. In addition, they will be grated leave for further studies too. She has numerous plans in her kitty for the villagers also; she has decided to reform the villages through High-tech township technique. She has several plans like building 9 meter wide roads which will be made to free the villages from confiscation. 500 square meter land will be reserved for building the primary schools.
