Generally, if someone is physically unfit to work, his or her life became dependant on others. Such people unnecessary welcome undue attention and sympathy. There are plenty of people in the world who are physical disabled and are not capable to see, speak, or even walk. But there is always an exception to the rule, since there are also few courageous personalities who not only help themselves but always ready to help others too despite their physical disability.
The Frankenstein’s monster of caste-based reservation in government and non-government jobs and academic institutions keeps rising from the ashes like the proverbial Phoenix. The issue which needs discussion and reflection is that as to whether we really need such a thing called reservation. Caste-based reservation should have been discontinued within ten years of the proclamation of the Indian Constitution. But if we still have to contend with the reservation demon, the reason lies in our failure to ensure an equitable and egalitarian process of value allocations thereby necessitating the continued existence of the caste-based system.
Ministry of HRD seems to have bestowed all its good will on Delhi university vice chancellor Deepak Paintal. Even, the ministry is ready to compromise with all rules and regulations for him. It raises a question whether India is facing a scarcity of well qualified people, who can take the commands of the university in their hand? HRD Ministry has sent a letter to Deepak Paintal in which the ministry has admitted that there is a real dearth of competent people who are willing to give an academic leadership in our university system an that is why Ministry is thinking about reappointment ( giving second term) those vice chancellors who have served their best.
Education Minister Kapil Sibbal is hoping to grant the nation the Right to education from 1st April. He is repeatedly talking of bringing basic and necessary changes in the education system, which seems, no doubt, sounding good .When a rally was organized under the leadership of JP in Bihar then one of the main demands was of changing the educational system entirely.
