The whole world witnessed massive destruction by tsunami in Japan. People in India need not be relieved that they will not be affected by nature’s wrath. In fact whenever India will face tsunami or earthquakes there will be even more destruction than Japan as we are not prepared for it.
It seems that the life of the farmers has to be gutted by one tension or the other. Their suicide rates are increasing day by day. If the government will not listen to them or understand their plight then who else will look after them? Unable to get any help they find dying an easy and painless option. A general frustration on part of the vulnerable communities at the slow pace of progress in climate change, the use of traditional politico-scientific approach which was leading to no productive developments, the ignored victims of the problem, Lack of accountability mechanism to deal with the phenomenon caused by man; all these reasons lead to a paradigm shift in December 2005 when an alliance of Inuit from Canada and United states filled a petition before the inter-American Commission on Human Rights. The petition alleged that the human rights of the plaintiffs had been infringed and were further violated due to failure of the United States to curb its green house gas emissions.
